Hi,
The Semanticscience integrated ontology (SIO) is not being updated.  What's the problem?

Hi Michel,

Checking into this. Is the URL for the latest version of SIO:
http://semanticscience.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ontology/sio.owl

The newest version is now loaded. The tree browser is not displaying the rdfs:label for the term. I believe this is caused by not setting the protege:defaultLanguage in the Metadata tab. I've created a test version and uploaded this to our dev server to confirm.

Hi Michel,

I've confirmed that the rdfs:label is not being displayed in the tree browser since the protege:defaultLanguage needs to be included via the Metadata tab.

Hi Michel,

The need to set the protege:defaultLanguage is an issue that is starting to occur more frequently as ontology developers are using Protege 4.x more frequently. We are discussing how best to handle this, e.g. setting the default language to "en" within BioPortal itself has been suggested.

Polling - does this refer to ontology uploads? If yes, this occurs daily. It looked like SIO was not set for automatic updates, but is now.

Re: [bioontology-support] ontology updates

Michel Dumontier
I don't know what protege: prefix refers to in terms of a uri. there is also a dc:language annotation property - perhaps that would be better?
